iPhone 12 and 12 Pro: Apple’s latest 5G Phones

At the beginning of the virtual event, Apple introduces the smart speaker HomePod Mini and then moved on to a detailed lecture about 5G technology, which will be supported in the iPhone 12 lineup. This year, four smartphones from the company are on the horizon: iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Previously leaked designs have been confirmed and the device will have flat edges like the iPhone 4 / 4s / 5 / 5s. Smartphones are the same in many ways and differ mainly in camera and display characteristics.

Compared to the previous generation, Apple’s new products are thinner and lighter. The screen in the iPhone 12 lineup has received a new, more durable glass – Ceramic Shield. According to the manufacturer, it will be the most durable iPhone display ever. The user will be 4 times more likely to not break the phone if dropped than before.

The entire iPhone 12 lineup will receive support for 5G networks, and to save energy, devices will be able to automatically switch to LTE.

iPhone 12 lineup will receive the A14 Bionic processor, which became the fastest processor in iPhone history. It was developed using a 5 nm process technology, which made it possible to install 40% more transistors in it and increase performance and autonomy. According to the company, the A14 is 50% faster than the A13. The company’s new processor is powered by the 16-core Neural Engine. It is capable of up to 11 trillion operations per second.

The iPhone 12 lineup supports MagSafe wireless charging, for which special magnets are built into the body of smartphones. Apple has promised a large number of MagSafe-enabled cases.

iPhone 12

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini uses only two cameras, just like the iPhone 11. One has a wide-angle module, and the other has an ultra-wide-angle module, both of which are 12 megapixels. The body of the iPhone 12 is made of aluminum.

Despite this, the manufacturer was able to improve night photography by installing additional lenses and increasing the aperture. It is now f / 1.6 on the main camera. Also, night mode now works on both the ultra-wide-angle and front-facing cameras.

The cameras in the iPhone 12 provide the highest video quality and are capable of recording HDR video in the Dolby Vision standard. Device support improved image stabilization and grading.

The iPhone 12 will receive a 6.1 inches display with a resolution of 2532×1170 pixels (460 ppi). The matrix is made using Super Retina XDR technology and has HDR10 support.

iPhone 12 will be available in several colors – white, red, blue, black, and green – with the storage of 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB at the price of $800.

iPhone 12 Pro

The iPhone 12 Pro is crafted from surgical steel with a carefully crafted matte glass back. Unlike the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini, the firmware has LiDAR and an additional telephoto camera module with a 4x optical zoom, which is great for shooting portraits.

Smartphone support Apple’s ProRAW format, which will become available later this year. This will allow users to take advantage of the broadest creative possibilities of photography. iPhone 12 Pro also supports HDR video in the Dolby Vision standard, but at up to 60 frames per second.

The LiDAR scanner allows the system to determine the distance to objects during shooting. And in low light, the smartphone uses it for autofocus both in photos and videos.

The iPhone 12 Pro has 6.1 inches display. It received a resolution of 2778×1284 pixels and is manufactured using Super Retina XDR technology. The brightness of the displays reaches 1200 cd / m² in peak mode and supports HDR 10.

The Phone 12 Pro will be available in Gold, Silver, blue, and Graphite colors with the storage of 128GB, 256GB at the price of $1000.
