I was so glad to find this camera during the pandemic. For those who needed a webcam, it was extremely difficult to find many of the name brands during the pandemic because suddenly, the world was livestreaming, and prices were heavily inflated for any product connected to streaming. This Wansview 1080P was a great find at a great price. The image is amazingly sharp. We use this webcam for online meetings, streaming and my 11-year-old son use the webcam for Virtual School.

The following are my personal takeaways:
- The cable length is decent; however, you may want to purchase a USB extension cord.
- The webcam has a focus knob. This is a good function as once you set it, the webcam will not constantly be going in and out of focus. Also, the built in microphone works well. However, I personally use a USB microphone for sound.
- The resolution is fantastic, and the field of view is wide at 16:9
- With internal h.264 encoding, this webcam is ready to go without installing additional drivers. This webcam also should work well with older pc’s as the processing is done in the camera itself and does not need to make heavy demands on your computer resources.
This Wansview 1080P webcam produces good video at Full HD resolution and “it just works” right out of the box. Decent build quality. It is well worth the price at $29.99, especially since cameras with built in hardware h.264 are difficult to find. The bottom line is, this webcam is a must purchase, even if it serves as a backup. The video quality is good with full HD, the build is decent, and the price is right!
At the time of publishing this article, a newer model is being reported. However, we have not tested the new model as of yet.
