While Pixel fans are waiting for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Google revealed the Pixel 5a 5G. It is the best of the company’s current smartphone. There are several reasons for this.

I usually indicate the price at the end of the article. Here it is given at the very beginning. It is not the cheapest Pixel for the entire existence of Google smartphones, but from the ones sold now, only the Pixel 4a can compete with it, which initially sold for $399.
The best battery ever in a Pixel
Finally, the company has given what has been expected from it for so long, a solid battery. Of course, you need to test everything, but the designated conditional capacity still amazes fans of the company’s smartphones:

By the way, the Pixel 5a 5G is the last smartphone from the company to be equipped with a power supply. Its power is 18 watts. There is support for Power Delivery 2.0. But the smartphone does not have wireless charging. Pixel 5 has it at a price of $699.
Best Performance
Google Pixel 5 scolded: where have you seen that the flagship received a completely non-flagship system-on-a-chip? The smartphone was equipped with the Snapdragon 765G – similar to the Pixel 4a 5G.
But what does 5a 5G cost? The same Snapdragon 765G! The smartphone also received 6 GB of LPDDRx4 RAM and 128 GB of storage. Here’s a round of the last trinity for the Pixel 5, which is powered by 8GB of RAM.
Do not forget that all “Pixels” are equipped with a Titan M security chip and a special coprocessor responsible for photo processing.
The smartphone received a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The same is found in the Pixel 4a 5G, but not in the base Pixel 5.
Cameras
There are three of them, and they are similar to the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5:
- The Main Camera received a matrix with a resolution of 12.2 megapixels. Each pixel is 1.4 μm in size. This camera received a lens with an aperture of f / 1.7 and an angle of view of 77 °;
- The ultra-wide-angle camera is equipped with a 16-megapixel matrix. Each pixel is 1.0 μm in size. The lens aperture is f / 2.2, and the angle of view is 117 °;
- The front camera is 8MP with 1.12 μm pixel size. The lens aperture is f / 2.0, and the angle of view is 83°.
That is, for less money, you get a smartphone that takes photos and videos in the same way as more expensive devices do.
Display:
The smartphone received the largest display of the trinity: 6.3 inches. However, the dimensions of the Pixel 5a 5G itself are similar to those of the Pixel 4a 5G:

The bigger display with identical dimensions is it a minus? Of course not, but there are other parameters here:

That is, you will not get a screen with 90 Hz, and its tempered glass will be very old. The last factor is very controversial, today’s tempered glass breaks very badly, but scratches are collected, be healthy. The third-generation “gorilla” breaks much easier, but it resists scratches better.
Also, in comparison with the Google Pixel 5, water resistance suffered: IPX67 versus IPX68.
However, the Pixel 4a 5G is not certified for any water resistance class at all.
Color
The smartphone is mostly available in the black color scheme, which is actually a dark green and sometimes shimmers in black. The olive green power button now has an embossed design.
Conclusion
This smartphone is no better than the Pixel 5, but is still called the best of the company. Minly, it is because of excellent battery, great camera, and a affordable price.
The smartphone is already available for pre-order. The Pixel 5a 5G will go on sale in the US and Japan on August 26th.
