This week Sony released a new firmware update for their flagship console PlayStation 5 (PS5).
The latest PlayStation 5 release is version number 21.02-04.03.00 and is 913MB in size. Sony’s official support website says the update has the same patch note as earlier this month: “This system software update improves system performance.”
PlayStation owners should be very familiar with this phrase by now, since it’s the same one we hear whenever an incremental update like this one is released. By user reports so far, it appears there are no undocumented changes, but we’re probably looking at fixes for bugs introduced with the big September update and beyond.
However, if you left your PS5 in Rest Mode, it will download it on its own.
