Amazon is updating its Kindle Paperwhite e-reader with some exciting improvements.

The new Kindle Paperwhite comes in two models, the Standard version, and the Signature Edition. Both versions offer a new 6.8-inch panel (compared to 6 inches previously), a revised design with thinner bezels, IPX8 certification, battery life of up to 10 weeks, a redesigned interface and 20% faster, a 10% higher brightness, a USB-C port allowing charging in 2h30 via a 9W power supply and a simplified configuration via the iOS and Android app. The Signature Edition version adds 32 GB of storage, automatic lighting adjustment according to the environment, and wireless charging.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite also has color temperature correction technology like night mode on phones. This feature is very reliable as it fits into the e-book segment, reducing eye strain when reading in the evening.

Like all Kindle models before, the Paperwhite (2018) relied on micro-USB, an old charging port by 2021 standards. Users will be glad to know that the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2021) now uses USB-C.

EReaders news is already available on Amazon at the rates of 139.99 and 189.99 dollars, with the first deliveries scheduled for October 29.

Kindle Paperwhite 2021: which one to choose?

The “ad-free” option seems optimal by the excellent methodology with which Amazon has inserted the ads on the reader: discreet, without any disturbance to the reading experience. Furthermore, a reader with connectivity does not need excessive memory. 8 GB in a reader should load significant amount of reading hours. However, if you prefer not to see ads during your reading time, the 32GB version is for you.
